I Did My First Live Stream and It… didn’t go quite as planned
Today I went live for the first time to walk through AB Split Test. I thought it would be a smooth ride — show off the plugin, answer a few questions, maybe drop a couple of discount codes.
What actually happened?
I found bugs.
Live.
In front of everyone.

Yep. Classic.
I’d love to say it was all polished and perfect, but the truth is: it was real. And honestly? That might have been the best part.
Here’s what went down:
- I set up a few tests live on my test live server.
- Hit publish
- Then watched as things… didn’t quite behave how they should 😬
Turns out the development build had a few gremlins that didn’t show up until I pushed things a little harder on stream. I had to pause, debug mid-demo, and own up to it in real time. Definitely not the “flawless walkthrough” I imagined.
But also? That’s the point.
If you’re building or using tools in the real world, things break. They act up when you least expect it. And how we handle that is the real test.
Here’s what I learned from the chaos:
- 💬 Transparency wins. People appreciate honesty.
- 🧠 It’s better to build in public than pretend things are perfect.
- 🛠️ Bugs are just proof that things are growing.
We squashed those bugs - the bug will not be released - dropped some heavy discounts, and made sure people saw the human side behind the plugin.
Would I do a live stream again?
Absolutely.
In fact, I’m planning to go live weekly — AMA style. If you’ve got questions, want to see a feature demo’d, or just want to hang out while I break stuff in real-time, join me. Bring your questions, your bugs, or just your curiosity.

See you there. And yes — I’ll probably still break something. 😅
