How to Run A/B Tests on Flatsome Builder with AB Split Test

Better UX. More conversions. No extra traffic required.

If you’re building with Flatsome, you already know it’s one of the most flexible and performance-focused WordPress themes for ecommerce. But building beautiful layouts is just the start.

With AB Split Test, you can now run powerful A/B tests inside Flatsome so you can see exactly which version of your designs leads to more clicks, signups, and sales.

What You Can Test in Flatsome

AB Split Test works inside the Flatsome UX Builder, so you can test nearly anything you build. For example:

  • Hero sections and product callouts

  • Headline and button copy

  • Entire page layouts

  • Promotional banners or upsell blocks

  • Footer and navigation variations

If you can build it in Flatsome, you can test it.

How to Set Up a Split Test with Flatsome Builder

  • Create a New A/B Test.

From your WordPress admin, go to: AB Split Test → New AB Split Test

  • Give your test a name (something like “Hero Section Test” or “Homepage CTA Test”).

  • Select the Test Type.

  • Set Your Conversion Goal.

Choose what counts as a conversion for this test.

    Some common options:

    • Page Visit (e.g. thank-you page)

    • Element Click (e.g. CTA button)

    • WooCommerce Purchase

If you're testing an ecommerce flow, you can also enable server-side WooCommerce tracking in the plugin settings.

  •  Click Start Test.
A WordPress dashboard displays an "A/B Split Test" setup screen with options for test type and on-page elements selection.

  • Now head over to the page you want to test.
  • In the Flatsome UX Builder, find the section, row, or element you want to test. You’ll need to add a test class to that block.

  • Click the block, go to the Advanced → Class field, and give it a name e.g: ab-test-a

  • Do the same for your variation block, but use ab-test-b
  • Pro tip: You can duplicate a section to create your variation, then update the text, images, or layout as needed.

Save the Page and Run the Test

Sve the page and go back to your test settings. Make sure your test is Published and check that the status shows as Running.

You can now visit the page in an incognito window to confirm that the variations are being randomly served.

Monitor Your Results

As traffic comes in, you can check the Results tab to see which variation is performing better. You’ll see data like:

  • Number of visits

  • Conversions

  • Conversion rate

  • Confidence/probability of winning

You can also turn on Debug Logging in the plugin settings if you want to track exactly what’s being triggered during testing.

A/B test results dashboard showing no winner after 3 days; both HeaderVariation and HeaderOriginal have 0% conversion rates and need more views for reliable results.

That’s It!

Flatsome is fully compatible with AB Split Test. Whether you're optimizing landing pages or testing product sections, it takes just a few clicks to get started.
