AI Integration for Enhanced Test Suggestions

Overview

AB Split Test has built-in AI (CROAssist) that suggests what to split test. It works in two places: the Optimization Hub in your WordPress admin, which analyzes your site and builds a prioritized list of test ideas, and the Magic Bar on your pages, which suggests new copy for the element you are testing.

Prerequisites

AI Assist works without an API key on paid plans. The settings page shows how many AI requests you have left. Adding your own OpenAI API key is optional - add one if you need more requests:

1. Sign up for an OpenAI account at https://platform.openai.com/.
2. After signing up and logging in, go to the API keys section in your OpenAI account dashboard.
3. Create a new API key or use an existing one.
4. Copy the API key.
5. In your WordPress admin, go to AB Split Test > Settings > Integrations and find AI Assist.
6. Paste the key into Your OpenAI API Key and click Save Changes.

Using the AI Feature

Go to AB Split Test > Optimization Hub. On the AI analysis tab, click Regenerate and CROAssist analyzes your site. The ideas it finds are listed on the Test ideas tab - click Build with CROAssist on an idea to open that page in the Magic Bar with the variations ready. While viewing a page, you can also open AB Split Test in the admin bar and click 🤖 AI Suggestions, or start a Magic test and open AI Suggestions under the element you picked. To tailor the suggestions, fill in the Business context tab in the Optimization Hub (your ideal customer, what customers love, your primary conversion goal and so on) and click Save context. To switch the AI features off, use Turn AI off under AI Assist in Settings.
